Day 2

On our second day, we ate at the breakfast buffet again and then headed to the university. We listened to an urban planning and development presentation which was interesting to hear about all the plans they have to develop urban areas in Vietnam. Then we had language class and we learned how to say "how are you today" and "I'm doing fine". We actually are picking up the language really quickly, it's a lot of fun. Lunch in the cafeteria was delicious they gave us french fries which was a nice taste of home. After lunch we went to a company visit at Phu My Hung. Phu My Hung is an urban development corporation that is building a high end community on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh city. The community is for high income people and it is geared so that you can walk everywhere you want. The communities have big malls, a school, and living complexes all in a walking radius. We took a tour of the buildings that have been built so far and they are all quite luxurious.. much different than the center of Ho Chi Minh City where all incomes live. So when the company visit was over of course it was nap time again. None of us can make it through the day without that afternoon nap, hopefully once the jet leg wears off we will be able to stay awake all day. After our nap we met up with our vietnamese students that we befriended for dinner. They took us to a dinner restaurant that serves pancakes filled with eggs and meat. For desert they took us to a frozen yogurt place called yogenfruz. It was kind of like razzy fresh but you can actually get them to mix your own flavor of ice cream it was so tasty. Now we are back in our hotel room but about to go back out to meet up with our Vietnamese friends, they are taking us to a club called Lush.
